When requesting a Estimate :
Avoid anyone who doesn’t examine the job / provide a in-depth estimate form before offering a price. Or who only provides a price over the phone.
Request comprehensive, written estimates from at least three vendors.
Be clear about your requirements. To get an accurate price, you need to be specific and detailed.
Estimates should be issued by the vendor on official letterhead, including details such as: The date. The complete name and signature of the individual you spoke with. The vendor’s name, address, and contact information.
The total hours for which the work will be billed, along with the hourly rate. A detailed breakdown of the services to be performed, the materials or parts needed, and their costs. The total amount to be paid.
The start and end dates of the repair project. Don’t hesitate to negotiate. Be cautious of a price that seems unusually low. It might indicate lower-quality work or could lead to higher costs down the line.
